Apple Expected to Announce Cheaper Macbook Air at WWDC

MacBook Air is arguably the most beloved Apple laptop, especially among the younger generation. However, it has not been refreshed since 2015. Apple still sells it with outdated internals and a mediocre display compared to the latest 12″ Macbook.

New MacBook Air Expected

According to the renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities Apple is finally expected to update the MacBook Air at WWDC in June this year. Kuo reported the new MacBook Air to be cheaper starting at a price of $799 or $899. The report claims the entry-level MacBook would be 13.3 inches. It is unclear whether Apple retains the same name for this notebook or not. Apple has already discontinued the 11-inch model.

Cheaper Apple Products

In addition to the new notebook, Apple might announce more affordable versions of the iPhone, iPad, and HomePod. iPad sales have been declining for the last few years. Apple is desperate to increase sales and make investors happy.

Retina Display Has Been Long Overdue

It is great news for those who love the 13-inch MacBook Air form factor.  The older version has an inferior LCD display that even pales when compared with other cheaper notebooks on the market. The retina display has been long overdue on the MacBook Air. So, let’s hope Apple (finally) bumps up the screen resolution.
